Can someone please fix the HP Smart App? Or atleast acknowledge that there is something wrong with it, and give us a timeline for when it might be fixed?

 

My printer wont print or scan through the smart app, but functions normally if I print directly from word or something. I've tried resetting/reinstalling/reconfiguring everything I can, but there is no getting around the HP smart app issue.

Weird "Status Unknown" error is supposed to have been fixed later in the day on 8-April-2021 .

It took me a while to find your message (based on the copy I got in email) but this is the one.

The problem persists.

  • I uninstalled and reinstalled the HP Smart software to the latest version on the App store. 
  • Cold Reset the printer
  • Reset the network

That's unfortunate.

HP is monitoring the situation.

 

Try this:

Log out of HP Smart on every device (Windows / Mac / iOS).

Restart the devices and log in.

Start HP Smart and sign into the application using your HP Account credentials.

 

Will that work?

Maybe - a similar process worked for me without ever having updated versions on Windows devices.

What does that mean?  Likely nothing unless the error is related to the way the application is connecting to its services and other devices running the application.

Unfortunately, that did not work. 

 

It is a strange error. Because all the functions of the printer work, but the app does not seem to connect to the printer.
