Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding HP printer 6950!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
If your HP OfficeJet 6950 printer is showing Offline or Error, Default on your computer, try these troubleshooting steps:
Restart Everything
- Turn off your printer, unplug it for 30 seconds, then turn it back on.
- Restart your computer.
- If using Wi-Fi, restart your router.
Check Printer Connection
🔹 For Wi-Fi Printers
- On the printer, go to Setup → Network Settings → Wireless Settings.
- Print a Wireless Test Report and check for errors.
- If disconnected, reconnect the printer:
- Select Wireless Setup Wizard and connect to your Wi-Fi network.
🔹 For USB Printers
- Unplug the USB cable, switch ports, and plug it back in.
Set Printer to "Online"
- Press
Win + R
, typecontrol printers
, and hit Enter. - Right-click your printer → See what’s printing.
- In the new window, click Printer (top menu) and uncheck:
- "Use Printer Offline"
- "Pause Printing"
Restart Print Spooler Service
- Press
Win + R
, typeservices.msc
, and hit Enter. - Scroll down to Print Spooler, right-click it, and select Restart.
Set as Default Printer
- Go to
Win + I
→ Devices → Printers & scanners. - Click on your printer and select Set as default.
Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers
- Go to HP Support → Enter HP OfficeJet 6950.
- Download the latest printer drivers.
- Install them and restart your computer.
Reset the Printer
If the issue persists:
- On your printer, go to Setup → Restore Defaults.
- Select Restore Network Defaults (for Wi-Fi issues).
- Reconnect the printer and try printing.
