@AmbEdwards, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're seeing a mismatch where HP says your OfficeJet Pro 8025e is ready, but the printer itself still shows "Setup not complete." Let's walk through the steps to resolve this and get your printer fully connected to your HP account.
Check Internet Connection on Printer
- On the printer control panel, tap the Wi-Fi icon or go to Settings > Network Setup > Wireless Settings.
- Ensure the printer is connected to your Wi-Fi network with a strong signal.
Use the HP Smart App
- Download or open the HP Smart app on your phone or computer: HP Smart
- Sign in with your HP account.
- If the printer is not listed, tap “+” to add it.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to complete setup. This includes:
- Assigning the printer to your HP account
- Enabling web services (for Instant Ink and cloud printing)
- Completing firmware updates if prompted
Check HP Account Registration
- Visit HP Connected and sign in.
- Ensure your printer is listed under My Printers.
- If not, click Add a Printer and follow the instructions.
Restart Devices
- Restart your printer, router, and the device running HP Smart.
- Open HP Smart again and check if the setup completes.
Check for Firmware Updates
- On the printer: Go to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Update Printer.
- Install any available updates.
Still Seeing “Setup Not Complete”?
If the message persists:
- Reset the printer’s network settings:
Settings > Network Setup > Restore Network Settings - Then re-add the printer using HP Smart.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
