I have an HP Officejet printer. I have the HP Smart app downloaded on my phone, my work desktop (windows operating system) and my Lenovo laptop (Chromebook operating system). My printer shows up as available on my phone and Windows desktop, however it shows as unavailable on my Chromebook. I am trying to use the document feeder scanning option under the HP Smart app on my Chromebook to scan various documents, but the printer continues to show as unavailable within the app, despite all troubleshooting options I have completed. However the printer shows as available and the document scanner feature works on my work Windows desktop. I need help figuring out how to get my printer to show up as available under the HP Smart app on my Chromebook, so I can use the document feeder scanning option, to be able to scan documents to my Chromebook.

You do understand that a Chromebook is not a laptop, right?
You can setup a Chromebook to print documents from it, but scanning is as far as I aware, not in the available options for a device that is in reality just a Chrome browser. There is no SSD or hard drive in a Chromebook to scan to.
Use the Chromebook as a browser and your desktop and laptop as PCs and life will be good.

A Chromebook is a type of laptop. It just has a different processing system compared to a window laptop or an apple laptop...but still a laptop. My printer is connected to my Chromebook and has no issues printing. The issue I am have is with the HP Smart app ( which allows the scanning option) on my Chromebook. When the app is downloaded from the play store, I am able to log into my account. However, it shows that my printer is unavailable. When I check the app through my phone or through my window desktop...my printer shows as available. So the issue is my printer being discoverable from my Chromebook...which would enable the printer and scanning features I am looking for

Reset the wifi on your printer.
I can't describe how to do that specifically with your printer, since you have not provided a product name or printer number.
