Hello All,
I've just purchased and installed a new MFPM479 Laser jet Printer.
The connection for printing was quite easy however scanning to email set up has me lost.
The first thing that occurred is that the HP Smart app appears to be done and the second issue is the validate certificate process (which I cant seem to fix).
I have tried **bleep** and now Outlook for the outgoing email settings however cannot get it to work. Very frustrating that it's so difficult to set up a new machine.
Please help!

Hello,
Use the port 25 if the port 587 does not respond.
TLS/StartTLS: Not required or Enable.
See How to set up a multifunction device or application to send email using Microsoft 365 or Office 365.
Don't hesitate to contact us in case of need.
Best regards,

Thanks for your return,
Please Update the firmware of your printer, then try configuring the SMTP server again.

Have you tried leaving the Always use secure connection (SSL/TLS) box checked?
Did you try to select Server does not require authentication before validating. With SMTP port 25 or 587.

Hi,
Please also try using an App Password, such may result due to two-step verification for your account from my experience:
Click Save & Test and check if you may see any difference then.
