I am writing for a friend.....neither of us is particularly computer literate.
Her computer recently had to be replaced; so, she purchased a used HP Pavilion Slimline, 400-034 PC with Windows 8 OS (not sure about the OS in terms of 64-bit....just guessing). The PC seems to be working okay; however, with her previous system she was using a printer (HP 7410 All-In One) and a webcam (HP-HD-HD3110 & HD 3100). She can't get either of the auxiliary devices to work. Can anyone tell me if these components are compatible and, if so, where she can access drivers or any other software that might be needed.
Also, would you recommend that she first upgrade to Windows 10?
Thank you
Terry

Hi Terry,
A Windows 8 drivers should be installed to use the printer on the new PC.
You may either upgrade to Windows 10 or not, the printer is compatible with both operating systems and this is simply a matter of your personal preferences..
For the 7410 printers, the drivers can be downloaded from the following link:
Note: If the printer is connected with a USB, unpulg the Cable from your PC now.
From the Control Panel select devices and Printers and select Remove Device for the printer icon prior installing the software.
Regarding teh HP Webcam, I afraid it is incompatible with Windwos 8.1 or Windows 10, it is only supported on Widnows 7 or earlier operating systems:

You may try installing the Windows 7 drivers using Compatibility Mode (download the file to your PC, right click it and select Troubleshoot Compatibility and then follow the steps on screen) but it was never tested on Windows 8 or 10 and if that won't work you would need to replace the webcam with a later model which is compatible with the operating system.
