My older HP Deskjet 1010 was printing fine until I went to HP Print & Scan Doctor to check for updates. It was not let me view any printer information w/o a scan. The information bar was almost at the very end and it froze. It would not respond to cancel, quit or anything, I had to go to CRTL ALT, Delete and end the process there. I unplugged my computer from wall, then unplugged my printer and waited 5min and plugged everything back in. I tried the scan doctor again with same results. I uninstalled the print doctor and unplugged the printer again but now it indicates the job is printing but nothing happens and white lights keep blinking. I use the Print & Scan Doctor to diagnose my printer but even those I have reinstalled a new one it still freezes.
My printer is a older HP Deskjet 1010. Computer is a Dell Inspiron 24 5415 All-in-one Win 11 Home Edition 64bit

Accidently deleted some Windows program?? and my printer started printing again. Can't tell you was program it was cause I was trying to delete a "Pie" icon Windows had attached to my "Search" icon. After I deleted the Pie Icon my printer made a noise and I pressed the start button and it started printing a page I was trying to print a week ago. Thank you for all the suggestions & help you give. I have learned a lot just by your support resources.
