My printer has started bluescreening for no apparent reason somewhat recently. I read up online that it was due to an update HP had released and to contact support. As I have now learnt, contacting HP support is literally impossible. I cannot print anything, the only way to get out of the blue screen is to hard reset the printer, which will then work for about 2 minutes before bluescreening again. I cannot print anything. I'm a little frustrated.

Hi @Grootle,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are getting the error code B8795540 on your HP ENVY Inspire 7220e printer indicates a critical firmware or hardware failure, often triggered by a recent firmware update or internal component fault (e.g., printhead, ink system, or logic board). Since you've already confirmed that the printer becomes unresponsive and blue screens shortly after startup, here's what you can try to fix the issue:
1. Perform a Hard Reset
- Unplug the printer from the power.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Plug it back in and power it on.
- If the error returns, proceed to the next step.
2. Update Firmware via USB (if possible)
If the printer stays on long enough:
- Download the latest firmware for your model from the HP ENVY Inspire 7220e All-in-One Printer Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Support.
- Use the HP Firmware Updater Tool to flash the firmware via USB.
I hope this helps.
Take care, and have an amazing day!
