To Dvortex,
Hello,
followed yr instructions (https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-Software-and-Drivers/Printer-not-connecting-to-laptop/m-p/6101...) and got to the very last item.
That is going to http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/COL42018/mp-108818-3/DJ4610_1313-1.exe
only to discover that my HP Printer is not listed and there are not options for putting in HP Deskjet 2540 All-in-One series
So for now everything is deleted according to the steps and I'm without anything at all.
Not happy and this could be avoided by putting the HP link at the top to check my model is shown.
Really need to print now and I'm stuck!!!

Refer to the document Changing from a USB to a Wireless Connection for further assistance in connecting the HP Printer to network.
Alternatively, you can also follow this document Wireless Printer Setup (Windows).
If you still need help, reach out to the HP Support in your region.
Hope this helps!

Is it possible to telephone a human in Ireland?
Reason i ask is that after 2 exhausting days I still have got nowhere and I give up trying alone.
Steps taken for HP Deskjet 2540 Series (All -in-One ) Serial # [edit]
*Installed from HP Printer disk .... printer is present in programs.
*Downloaded HP Print and Scan Doctor and ran (without success)
*Downloaded DJ2540_188.exe and ran this program so Drivers are up to date.
*Printed once with a USB connection (which had me in contortions on the floor due to printer
location and need for internet connection)
*Tried Virtual Assistant ... no luck.
Purpose is to print (as I used to) wirelessly.
Wi-Fi is On, Bluetooth is On.
There seems nothing else I can do ... other than speak with a human.
