HP Deskjet 3630

Printer has been working flawlessly until I installed Windows 11 and then reverted back to Windows 10. After that, although the printer still works perfectly FROM THE PRINTER and is connected wirelessly to my network, there is a configuration issue which prevents me from printing from my laptop to the printer as before.

I believe that there is some residual stuff left over from W11 and that is what is causing the problem. I have rebooted the computer and the printer numerous times, have uninstalled and reinstalled the printer and still I cannot print to it from the laptop.

I am to the point of actually resetting W10 in order to clear the W11 residue I believe is causing the problem and thereby lose all my programs but the important programs, I can reinstall and I have good backup of my system so although I do not want to have to go that route, it seems like the only viable option right now unless someone can provide me with a resolution. I have searched the internet and no matter what words I choose, I get a standard response which does not acknowledge this particular issue.

Any help or advice out there for me? Thank you!

So, after 12 days, 67 people have read my post but no one has come up with any advice or solution beyond what I had intended to do to resolve the issue.

I am adding this information in the event that this happens to someone else.

Yes, I did, indeed, need to reinstall Windows 10 in order to clear out the crumbs and other detritus that Windows 11 left behind. I even downloaded Windows 10 from the cloud instead of using the installation files which were on my computer just in case those installation files were not as virgin as those being downloaded.

After the re-installation of Windows 10, I was able to install my printer with no problem whatsoever.

So, if you find yourself in a similar situation, bite the bullet and do the re-install after saving the files you will need afterward to get your browser back the way you want it and any backup files for programs that you have to reinstall so as to have all your saved settings for those as well.

Good luck!
