I have an HP Envy 6055e printer.  I am able to print using my iPhone with HP Smart.  I am trying to add printer to print from my Mac and it can't locate printer.  Blue wifi on printer is solid blue.

Hi @Tinam22,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand your HP ENVY 6055e printer's blue Wi-Fi light is solid, it means the printer is connected to your Wi-Fi network. Since you can print from your iPhone but not from your Mac, here are a few steps to troubleshoot the issue:

Check Printer and Mac Connection:

  • Ensure that your Mac is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the printer.

Update Printer and Mac Software:

  • Make sure your HP Smart app on the Mac is updated to the latest version.
  • Check if macOS has any pending updates and install them.

Add Printer Manually:

  • Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners on your Mac.
  • Click the + button to add a new printer.
  • Wait for the printer to appear in the list. If it does not, try restarting your Mac and printer.

Reinstall HP Smart App:  HP printer setup (HP Smart app)

  • If the printer does not show up, try uninstalling and reinstalling the HP Smart app on your Mac.

Reset Network Settings:

  • Sometimes, resetting the network settings on the printer can help. You can do this through the printer's control panel or the HP Smart app.

Check Firewall and Security Settings:

  • Ensure that your Mac's firewall or security software isn't blocking the HP Smart app or the printer.

Use AirPrint:  Set up the HP printer with AirPrint in macOS

  • If you're still having issues, you can try printing via AirPrint. Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners on your Mac, select the printer and ensure that AirPrint is enabled.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
