HP Print and Scan Doctor 5.6.1
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a problem with the software HP Print and Scan Doctor 5.6.1. Previous versions ran without problems on my PC. After downloading the file HPPSdr.exe today (29. of July 2021) and even after opening it (opened with administrator rights after clicking on the exe-file via PROPERTIES and then COMPATIBILITY), the following message appears (also further trials show same message):

For this tool you need administrator rights. Log in as administrator and restart the tool.

(Deutsch: Für dieses Tool benötigen Sie Administratorrechte. Melden Sie sich als Administrator an und starten Sie das Tool neu.)

After that I can only close the dialog. No installation possible.

If somebody can help, has the same experiences or has maybe an idea what to do, please (!) contact me.

@DeBero2020, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

I understand you are having issues with the HP Print and Scan Doctor application. This is a diagnostics tool. Do you have any issues with the printer?

Make sure you are logged in to your computer with an administrator account.

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor to diagnose and fix any driver issue

Click here to download the file. Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and click on 'Fix printing'.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Search the internet, this problem is being widely encountered.  The tool to diagnose and fix problems has become the problem.

But the problem to install the new HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 wide AIO is still not solved. (fails at the end of setup and then "no driver available" is written to the printer in the Device-List.
