I know you're "an HP employee" and all lol, but can you send instructions for the same thing for Mac....I'm in college....COVID-19 has struck and I have to scan all my assignments...and I have some ridiculously long assignments to scan and send in (the scanning app kinda sucks and it doesn't compress things into PDF without me paying and I just bought this printer a few months ago....)
I have a HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 2675.
I'm using OS Catalina....and I have an iPhone...please send help!

@KagayakuQueen94, Welcome to HP Support Community!
I see that you have issues with scanning, to provide you with an accurate solution, I'd like to know the following-
- Which application are you scanning from?
- How is the printer connected to the computer?
- How is the printer connected to the computer?
Keep me posted for further assistance.

Hi,
You cannot connect using an iOS hotspot, such offers internet connectivity only (tethering) and not local networking which is required to use a local device such as a printer.
You may connect the Mac to your printer using Wi-Fi Direct to print wirelessly without a router, which will temporarily disable the internet connectivity when connecting to the printer:

Or else, a USB cable would be an option.
