I have a LaserJet P1102W.

I have a new computer and it worked fine with my Mac on Catalina. Now the computer updated itself to Big Sur. I have uninstalled the previous driver and downloaded the HP Easy Start. I then restarted my computer. When I try to print a page the dialogue box starts up like it is going to be printing, moments later it reads, "The Printer is Not Responding."

Does anyone know what I can try to get my printer printing again?

Thank you in advance.

@JackieNY, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

  • Which application are you trying to print from?
  • Have you tried printing different types of documents like PDF, Word, or Webpages and check if the issue persists?

This printer is AirPrint compatible. Kindly install the printer using the AirPrint driver.

Update the printer firmware

Click here to download and install the latest printer firmware from your MAC.

Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.

Also, check for any software updates on MAC

Click the Apple icon > About This Mac > Software Update and install any available update.

1.) Click the Apple menu, click System Preferences, and then click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners.

2.) Check if your printer name displays in the Printers list, If your printer is listed, click the printer name, click the minus sign to delete the printer.

3.) If you see multiple printer queues for the same printer, remove all extra printers by selecting them one at a time, and then clicking the minus button at the bottom of the list.

4.) Click the plus sign, click Add Printer or Scanner, click the printer name.

5.) Click the Use or Print Using menu, select AirPrint in the pop-up menu. Then click Add.

Select AirPrint from the Use menu

Note: Use Bonjour multifucntion.

6.) Try to print.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

None of this works - I need HP to make a patch so my printer can work on the MAC with the server being BIG SUR Version 11.0.01

I have tried every which way suggested and even then some - but this keeps coming up

I really would like to use my printer!

Install the HP Smart app on a mobile device (iOS or Android) or use Windows 10 or macOS 10.12 or higher to get the right printer software. Visit 123.hp dot com on the device to get started.

Use a printer that is already set up
If your printer is already set up and connected to your network, we can help you start using it. Find help at support.hp.com.

When I go to the site 123.hp. dot com that's what it tells me! I feel like we are playing Catch-22.

PS though my printer was suppose to be an "Airprint" it NEVER worked that way. It only works (well, at least it use to ) when plugged in to the USB port.

@JackieNY

If you have tried those steps and also tried HP Easy Start and still unable to print, I think this issue needs some additional technical assistance that can be better provided through one-on-one interaction or a remote session with our HP Support team.

Please reach out to the HP Technical Support team in your region for further assistance.

Keep me posted for any other assistance.

Not only did I try all those steps, many times, but they also don't help. First off, HP Easy Start cannot locate any driver software for my MAC. I just spent the last half hour looking for any software for any LaserJet P -- to work on MAC with a system of 11.0 -- so if you are an employee, please ask the powers that be to release a driver for older printers (that still work great) that is fully compatible with macOS Big Sur Version 11.0.1

Thank you.

Could you share the URL from the Apple site where you found the driver.  Is it only for Air Print?

Awesome!  I've been fighting with getting. my Laserjet CP3525dn to work with my MacBook Pro 2019 running Big Sur for a while now, this fixed it!  Thanks!
