My new printer was sending the wrong font when printing envelopes so I tried to un-install reinstall the HP smart app and got the error Code: 0x80073CFB. I tried, resetting, trouble shooting or uninstalling the MS installation app, but no help. Anything else I should try

Hi @NKA2,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Error code 0x80073CFB typically indicates an issue with the installation or uninstallation of an application on a Windows system. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue with the HP Smart app.
Use the Windows Store Troubleshooter:
- Press the Windows key + I to open Settings.
- Go to Update & Security > Troubleshoot.
- Find and run the Windows Store Apps troubleshooter.
Clear Windows Store Cache:
- Press Windows key + R to open the Run dialog.
- Type wsreset.exe and press Enter. This will clear the Windows Store cache.
Reinstall the HP Smart App:
- Uninstall the HP Smart app from your system.
- Restart your computer.
- Download the latest version of the HP Smart app from the official website or Microsoft Store and reinstall it.
Check for Windows Updates:
- Make sure your Windows operating system is up-to-date. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for updates.
Reset Microsoft Store:
- Press Windows key + X and select Windows PowerShell (Admin) or Command Prompt (Admin).
- Type the following command and press Enter:
- Restart your computer.
Get-AppXPackage *WindowsStore* -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}
Check for Antivirus or Firewall Interference:
- Temporarily disable your antivirus and firewall and then try reinstalling the HP Smart app.
Manually Remove HP Smart App Remnants:
- Sometimes, remnants of the app might be left after uninstallation. Manually check and delete any leftover files or folders related to the HP Smart app.
Always ensure you have a backup of important data before making any significant changes to your system.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Thanks for your support
1. My windows 10 updates are up to date
2. I disabled my Norton antivirus and VPN
3. Used the Windows Update troubleshooter
4. Cleared Window store Cache
5. Checked for any remaining printer files (my computer is HP and I had old HP envy printer so there are some HP files, including HP scan and print doctor)
5. Restart and tried reinstalling same fault
6. Repeated 3 and 4 and did the reset Get-AppXPackage *WindowsStore* -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}
7. Restarted and tried install again and still failed
8. Let me know if there is anything else to try,
