HP ENVY 4520 All-in-One Printer series

Hi

I bought my HP ENVY 4520 All-in-One Printer when I lived in the US. I have now moved to Europe and need to reset the region to be able to buy cartridges locally.

Product Model Number: F0V69A

Current region: 2 (need it to be 4?)

I have been able to access to the support and engineering menu (and can provide serial number, service id, firmware version on request), but apparently I still need a code to perform the region reset. Please help.

Regards,

/Sebastian

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Yes, we'll have to do a region reset.

To do a printer region reset you need to meet the following conditions:

1. The printer should be connected using a printer USB cable to the computer.

2. You need to have the printer full feature software installed on your computer. Also, let us know the Operating System on your Computer.

3. You need to have all the cartridges either from the region from where the printer was purchased originally or the new region to which you want to reset it to.

Please do let us know.

Hi @Betty0610

Thank you so much for your reply. I can absolutely connect the printer using a USB cable, so on #1. But I don't know what the "full feature software" is, I am running macOS Big Sur (11.6) - what do I need to install? I do have cartridges from the new region.

Hi,

Okay, I've installed the HP Smart App, I've connected the printer using a USB cable and I've added the printer in the HP Smart App.

The printer says "The indicated cartridges are not intended for use in this printer" (I have installed 302, which is what is available here in Europe, while the ones in the US were called 63). What do I do next?

Thanks,

/Sebastian

•Open the printer queue in Print & Fax, and then click Printer Setup.

•Click the Utility tab.

•Click Open Printer Utility.

•De-select the printer to reset. Click another printer name (if a second printer is installed) or click the Printers folder.

•Hold down the Option key, and then click to reselect the printer to reset. Continue to hold the Option key until the Set New Region window opens. This might take several seconds.

Use the "Copy to Clipboard" feature to paste the values here or take a screenshot of the screen and send it to me in private.

Thank you so much for helping. I'm not able to follow the instructions though, I can't find the "Open Printer Utility" you are referring to. This is what my printer settings look like:

No "printer utility" there. And here is my "HP Smart" window, no "utility" there either...

Please help, I'm still stuck.

Thanks,
