Product Name: Printer HP Officejet 5610 All-in-one
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)
Scanner is not working in HP Officejet 5610 All-in-one .
Printer is working as printer
Copy function standalone - is working.
The printer is connected as a local printer to PC through USB cable.
After changing computers from WinXp to Win 7 Professional and reinstalling printer software the printer is working OK but the scanner is not working. I tried few times to uninstall and reinstall software but with not success.
Here is what happened:
When I press I "Scan" button on the printer the printer is saying: "No scan Options".
After searching the Web I installed HP Print and Scanner Doctor 5.1, but still it did not help me.
I tried:
Start-Fax-Windows Fax and Scan- and got this message: Windows Fax and Scan cannot run as it cannot access your documents folder.
So how I can get my scanner working?
Thanks
zb

Thanks The_Fossette for aswering,
Here again all info:

I tried:
Start-Fax-Windows Fax and Scan- and got this message: Windows Fax and Scan cannot run as it cannot access your documents folder.
I followed your instructions and here is what happened:
I downloaded and installed "HP Print and Scan Doctor 5.1"
When I started this program, after selecting the correct printer it asked me to install a software.
When I try to install I am getting "Another instance of this application is already runnig".
Under Task Manager I see 2 apps running:
HP Print and Scan Doctor 5.1
HP Print and Scan Doctor
I killed Starting "HP Print and Scan Doctor" and pressed"Start Over"
I see in the Task mahaner that only HP Print and Scan Doctor 5.1 is running.
I selected the printer and I am getting:
"The full software solution for the product is not installed"
Taskmanager shows only one version of "HP Print and Scan Doctor 5.1" is running.
Asking me to install software.
I press install Software Button.
I see it starts a new version of "HP Print and Scan Doctor" (without the version number") and I am getting th message ""Another instance of this application is already runnig".
So I tried again, this time without installing software I pressed "Skip" button.
After selecting "Fix scanning" I see the scanner scanner is moving and I am gettin this screen http://www.sciepa.org/pictures/hp%20doctor001.png
I am clicking "Get Update" button.
Then in a browser is getting:
Service Unavailable - DNS failure

So I pressed the "Skip" button.
The scanner was working (I see it is moving) but nothing was printed.
When I pressed a hardware "Scan" button on the printer, I got a message on the printer "No scan option".
I think some drivers are missing, why I am getting "Service Unavailable - DNS failure" when I am trying to download drivers?
Thanks,
zb
