HP Photosmart 5524
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I've been experiencing issues with trying to scan and update my HP Photosmart 5524.

When trying to scan, it doesn't connect to the computer, and when trying to copy it crashes.

I suspect the problem is caused by outdated firmware, which is why i'm trying to update it.

However, whenever the printer is checking for updates, I get the message "The printer was unable to connect to the server. Check the Internet connection and try again, or enter a proxy address"

I've tried the answer suggested in this post, but this didn't solve the problem.

Also, I've found this post which seems to have the same problem, to which is answered that the firmware should be updated through the computer.

Even though the link in the post is not working anymore, I've found instructions and firmware updates I could install on my printer through my computer, but when trying this, I get the message "The update failed on 1 printer. Please turn the printer off, then on, and retry the update". Even though I've restarted it and retried it many times, it still won't work.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thank you in advance!
