Hi @NickEnvy,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're having trouble connecting your HP Envy 6020e to your Wi-Fi because the password is being rejected, here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot the issue:

1. Double-Check Wi-Fi Password

  • Ensure that you're entering the correct Wi-Fi password. Remember that passwords are case-sensitive, so check for:
    • Correct capitalization (uppercase/lowercase).Any special characters.
    • Ensure there are no spaces before or after the password.

2. Reboot Your Router

  • Sometimes, rebooting your router can resolve connectivity issues:
    1. Unplug the power from your router.Wait about 30 seconds.
    2. Plug it back in and wait for it to fully restart.

3. Use WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup)

  • If your router supports WPS, you can connect your printer using this method:
    1. Press the WPS button on your router. On the printer, go to the Wi-Fi setup and select the WPS option.
    2. Follow the prompts to connect without needing to enter the password.

4. Check Router Settings

  • Ensure that your router is not set to hide the SSID (network name) and that it is using a compatible security mode (WPA2 is generally recommended):
    • Access your router’s settings through a web browser (usually by typing 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1).
    • Check the wireless settings for any issues.

5. Update Printer Firmware

  • Make sure your printer’s firmware is up to date. You can do this using the HP Smart app:
    • Download the HP Smart app on your smartphone or computer.Use it to find and install any available updates for your printer.

6. Reset Printer Network Settings

  • You can reset the network settings on the printer to start fresh:
    1. On the printer, go to the Settings menu.Look for Network or Wireless settings.
    2. Find an option to Restore Network Defaults.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
