Settings>Bluetooth & Devices>Printers & Scanners>Add Device hangs in Windows 11 Home Version 22H2 build 22621.1926
Networked on:
HP Specter x360 laptop
HP Desk Jet 3515 Series printer
TP-Link AX50 router
HP Smart Software (Sees printer but will not install).
Manual installation hangs.
Printer trouble shooter provides no advice.
Can clear add device hang by resting print spooler in task manager.
Works correctly when installed on same network using Windows 11 on MS Surface 4!

Hi @EW1JohnnyB,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you're experiencing an issue where the "Settings > Bluetooth & Devices > Printers & Scanners > Add Device" process hangs or freezes on your HP DeskJet 3515 Series printer in Windows 11, you can try the following troubleshooting steps.
Restart your computer: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve temporary software glitches. Restart your computer and see if the issue persists.
Check printer compatibility: Ensure that your HP DeskJet 3515 Series printer is compatible with Windows 11. Visit the HP support website and verify if there are any specific drivers or updates available for Windows 11 compatibility. If there are, download and install them.
Update printer drivers: Outdated or incompatible printer drivers can cause various issues. Visit the HP support website and download the latest drivers for your printer model. Install the updated drivers and try adding the device again.
Remove existing printer entries: If there are any existing printer entries in the "Printers & Scanners" settings, remove them before attempting to add the printer again. To do this.
a. Open "Settings" by pressing Windows key + I.
b. Click on "Bluetooth & Devices" and then select "Printers & Scanners".
c. If you see any previous printer entries, select them one by one and click on the "Remove device" button.
d. Once all previous printer entries are removed, try adding the printer again.
Use the Control Panel to add the printer: If the "Settings" app is causing the hang, you can try adding the printer through the Control Panel. Here's how.
a. Press Windows key + X and select "Control Panel" from the menu.
b. In the Control Panel, click on "Devices and Printers".
c. Click on "Add a printer" and follow the on-screen instructions to add your HP DeskJet 3515 Series printer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

I have tried all solutions repeatedly without results, except removing other print devices.
After removing all print devices Add Device still hangs and now I have NO print device.
Print to OneNote, PDF and XPS used to work among other system devices.
