@tom9329, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
If you are experiencing issues printing from your Microsoft PC with your HP Smart Tank 7000 series printer, despite scanning functioning correctly and being able to print from other devices, here are several steps you can try to resolve the issue:
Check Printer Status:
- Ensure that the printer is not showing as "Offline" in the Windows settings. You can do this by going to Control Panel > Devices and Printers, right-clicking on your printer, and clicking Use Printer Online.
Remove and Re-add the Printer:
- Sometimes removing the printer and adding it back can resolve connectivity issues. Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers, select your printer, and choose to remove or uninstall it. Then re-add the printer.
Update Printer Drivers:
- Make sure that you have the latest drivers installed for your printer. You can check and download the latest drivers from the HP Support Page.
Check the Print Queue:
- Open the print queue and cancel any stuck print jobs. Sometimes clearing the queue can resolve printing issues.
Firewall and Antivirus:
- Temporarily disable your firewall or antivirus programs to check if they are interfering with printing. Ensure they are re-enabled after testing.
Check USB or Network Connections:
- Ensure that all cables are securely connected if you are using a USB connection. If connected via a network, make sure both printer and PC are on the same network.
Restart Devices:
- Try restarting your PC and printer to clear any temporary caches or memory issues that might be hindering printing.
Run HP Smart:
- Download and run the HP Smart. Follow the prompts to diagnose and fix common printing issues.
- Refer: Use Diagnose & Fix in HP Smart to repair common printing issues (Windows, macOS) | HP® Support
Update Printer Firmware (Update the firmware on an HP printer | HP® Support)
- Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page. Enter your printer model number and search for the latest firmware update. Follow the instructions to download and install the firmware update.
I hope this helps.
