Hallo,
I have the following problem.
During updating the all in one driver (AIO_CDB_NonNet_Full_Win_WW_130_141) to the latest driver ( AIO_CDB_NonNet_Full_Win_WW_140_408-4 ) the installation fails at the step of configuration of my printer (waiting for a long time) it tells me there is windows 8 problem and the installation will roll back and uninstall the driver.
My computer run,s at windows 10 and is 32/64 bits version updated from windows 7 to windows 10.
My printer is a HP deskjet F380.
info it is not possible to install the older driver again because it telss me it is already installed very strange.
Hope you help because it worked fine with the 130_141 driver version.

The Full Feature Software rated for Windows 8.x - Windows 10 is not an "upgrade" in the sense that the driver for the newer Operating System is a different driver; "older" and "newer" printer software is not compatible with each other. The 130_141 software is not compatible with Windows 10.
Try / Consider
Printer Software – Uninstall Existing Software (Optional)
Control Panel > icon view > Programs and Features >
Scroll down, click, and Uninstall the software
After the software is removed, Restart the computer and log in
If printer software will not uninstall, appears to be removed and then shows up again, or is otherwise not “going away” when you tell it to do so, try an Uninstaller program.
Microsoft: Fix problems that block programs from being installed or removed
Printer Software - Installation
NOTE: If using USB, disconnect the USB cable between the printer and the computer before starting the installation. Connect the cable when instructed to do so (toward the end of the installation procedure).
Download, save, and install the Full Feature Software for your Operating System version
After the software is installed, Restart the computer and log in
Alternative Driver / Software
If the software in your Support pages will not install / work properly,
Consider:
Remove (Uninstall) any existing printer software,
Download, save, and install:

Commentary
The "Full Feature Software" packages for this printer are at least four years old. It is possible, in spite of the original "Windows 10" rating on the software, that it will not work as expected in the latest (newest) versions of Windows 10.
If you cannot get the Full Feature Software to work, consider using the Windows drivers to regain basic print function:
- NOTE: The “Full Feature Software” solution for older printers may not work in Windows 10 Fall Creators – Please use Windows Update to install your printer: HP Printers - Installing and Using the Windows Built-in Print Driver

Hallo,

If the current situation is a result of (started right after) a Windows Update, then the following clean-up procedure might help fix the underlying issue and allow your printer software to install.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
If you have already tried to reinstall the printer software and the program just won't install
OR
If it appears the software does install and then does not work as expected,
Try / Consider the procedure to clear the print setup and then reinstall the software.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Corrupt OS components can prevent installation of Full Feature Software.
Essentially the same fix as for the “not compatible with a policy” error, this repair method can help in those cases where Windows Updates might have corrupted driver components in the Operating System.
The following are examples of the same procedure; the only difference is the presentation. Take your pick.
Use a shortened (unillustrated) version of the procedure as follows:

Hallo,
The problem did,t occur after a windows 10 update bur after i was trying to install a newer driver.
The installation go as far as the configuration of the printer starts at the end of all installation points then it tells me to that there is fatal error for windows 8 installation and a so called help function (windows 😎 will be installed at my desktop and the installation rolls back and starts uninstalls parts of the first installions points .

- If you have not done so, remove the printer program(s) with a tool to clear out the software.
If printer software will not uninstall, appears to be removed and then shows up again, or is otherwise not “going away” when you tell it to do so, try an Uninstaller program.
Microsoft: Fix problems that block programs from being installed or removed
Restart the computer and log in.
Disconnect the USB cable before (re)installing the printer software.

Basic Print Function - "Add a Printer"
Frankly, I am surprised you cannot even use the "Add a Printer" procedure -- this process installs Windows Print Drivers to add basic print function. If this, too, is failing, there is something else going on -- "something" for which I do not have an answer.
The "After Windows Update" fix can be used in spite of the reason for the installation failure. I would not attempt it withour first creating a Restore Point.
If I have anything else to offer, I will post back.

Hallo,
Please do not confuse your self the driver i try to install it is the HP driver as mention above.
Windows installed the basic printer funtion normally and this works oke.
So the HP driver installs normal but at the end of the installation during the configuration part of the printer with usb cable installed a recieve after a long time waiting the fault message about windows 8 installation error.

I don't think I am confused -- it is certainly possible. Smiling.
If Windows has installed the basic drivers and you do not feel it necessary to complete the Add-a-Printer task, then you are done with that.
If you decide to do so, try the procedure to clear possible corruption and reinstall the software.
If you decide to do so, try clearing out the exisiting software and installing the 408.5 version.
I am out of ideas for the moment.
Should I have anything substantive (actually useful) to add, I will post back.
