Had this working then today it would not print - the printer can't be found on Network was the message.
As I played with it - somehow it can't find the Printer in Devices - so I went to download the driver again. I could Identify my printer, the download wording then highlighted, BUT when I tried to download nothing happens.
How do I get the driver? Printer listed above.
Once I get it - I have the smart app to help install or reset up on my wifi.

Hi @Hatchmaster,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you're experiencing issues with your HP Officejet Pro 8610 printer, here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the problem.
Check Network Connection:
- Ensure that your printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer. You may need to check the printer's network settings.
- Restart your router to ensure a stable connection.
Reinstall Printer Driver:
- Go to the official HP website: HP Customer Support.
- Enter your printer model (Officejet Pro 8610) and click on "Search."
- Select your operating system.
- Locate the appropriate driver and download it.
Manually Add Printer:
- Open "Control Panel" on your computer.
- Navigate to "Devices and Printers."
- Click on "Add a printer" and follow the on-screen instructions to manually add your printer.
Windows Troubleshooter:
- Use the built-in Windows troubleshooter to diagnose and fix printer-related issues. Go to "Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters" and run the Printer troubleshooter.
Firewall and Antivirus:
- Check if your firewall or antivirus software is blocking the communication between your computer and the printer. Temporarily disable them to see if it resolves the issue.
USB Connection (Optional):
- If you continue to face issues with the wireless connection, try connecting your printer to your computer using a USB cable. This can help isolate whether the issue is related to the network.
HP Print and Scan Doctor:
- Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor from the official HP website. This tool can diagnose and resolve printing and scanning issues.
Once you have the correct driver downloaded and installed, you can use the HP Smart app to assist with the setup on your Wi-Fi network. The HP Smart app can guide you through the process of connecting your printer to the network and troubleshooting any issues.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Thank you for your response. I had done all those things listed above. The problem was I could not download the driver when I clicked on the download button. The next morning i found the printer driver through a different channel under HP Support and downloaded it.
I installed it - but at end it told me to use the wizard on the printer. I did that, and after it searched for my Internet it said I needed to update my MAC address on my WiFi. So next call was to Mediacom as to how to change that = since it sounded and looked like I can't do on from my laptop settings. I would need to contact Tech Services to make the change,
So next morning ,I pulled up WIFI advance settings and found a share button - flipped it. Then tried to print and it printed.
Here are end results:
My Wifi for printer _ i need to connect to the Name: HP-Print -72 Officejet Pro 8610
the Printer name is now: dhcppc20 (HP Officejet Pro 8610) (Copy1) It used to match above?
I still can't scan on the printer without copying scan to a UPC thumb drive and walking it back.
I have not called Tech Support from Mediacom to change MAC address - should I?
