Hi, my printer has a error message for Print Cartridges but, I just bought new ink cartridges for my printer and the error still appeared after I installed them. The error message happened while I printing out stuff online then still stayed on the LCD screen when I replace both cartridges. I had a old color cartridge that's and a black cartridge that I use most the time but, it didn't print no faded pages yet. Anyone know how to remove this error message or fix it? Thank you and have a good day.

Welcome to HP support community.

Perform a power reset

  1. Turn on the printer, if it is not already on.
  2. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
  3. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  4. Wait at least 30 seconds.
  5. Plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector and printer.
  6. Turn on the printer.

Update the printer firmware

Hi Sandytechy20, are you sure I could update printer firmware? It says 2010 or something. My printer is HP PSC 2410xi Photosmart and the firmware was already running right. I already tried resetting that way plus a soft reset and a hard reset.  Thanks again, let me know if you have any other ideas? Have a good day.

This seems to be a hardware issue.

I request you to talk to HP support.

They might have multiple options to help you with this.

1) Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/

2) Click on "Continue as guest".

3) Enter the serial of your device.

4) Select the country from the drop-down.

5) Click on "Show Options".

Fill the web-form. A case number and phone number will now populate for you.

Hi, I tried what you said above but, there isn't a show options link or anything there. It showed my printer model with a image on the side after I entered serial number and etc. It says my warranty is expired but, I already knew that because it's a pretty old printer model. Do you have another way to fix it or a better a idea? Because hard or soft reset didn't work and the ink don't seem like the problem or the motor or the contacts inside. Power is on and usb is connected to PC without any errors showing. Only a printer error for cartridges. Thanks again, have a good night and let me know if you do.

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).

If you are unfamiliar with how the Community's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Community.

Cheers.
