Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The printer appears to have been set up OK. It will not print pages correctly. I usually get one line of: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?><cmd xmins:ivec="http://canon.com/ns/ and a few pages of randon print around the edges of the subsequent sheets. Any advice?

Hi @Cris361

Please try these steps -

1) Take out the cartridges.
2) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.
3) Wait for 30 seconds.
4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not to a surge protector.
5) Insert the cartridges back into the printer.

Try updating the printer's firmware. Refer to this document for steps - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

You may also try these steps.

Let me know how that goes.

The printer is a HP Photosmart C4580 all-in-one printer. Any help would be much appreciated. At the moment it is just a photocopier!
