HP Smart Tank 515 Wireless All-in-One
Microsoft Windows 11

We changed our internet provider recently, I tried to set up again the printer in HP smart by adding the printer because I removed it. It says offline and won't be able to add it. I tried multiple steps in YT but it didn't work.

Please help, thank you in advance!

@wendsss, Hello and welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.

I understand you're having trouble reconnecting your HP Smart Tank 515 Wireless All-in-One printer after switching internet providers. No worries, I'll guide you through the steps to get your printer back online and working with HP Smart on Windows 11.

Why This Happens

When you change your Wi-Fi network, your printer remains connected to the old network. Since it no longer has access to that network, it appears offline.

Step-by-Step Fix

Step 1: Reset the Printer’s Network Settings

This will allow the printer to forget the old Wi-Fi and enter setup mode.

  1. On the printer control panel, press and hold the Wireless button and the Cancel button together for 5 seconds.
  2. The Wireless light will start blinking - this means the printer is in Wi-Fi setup mode.

Step 2: Reconnect the Printer Using HP Smart

  1. Open the HP Smart app on your Windows 11 PC.
  2. Click “Add Printer”.
  3. The app should detect your printer in setup mode. Select it.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to your new Wi-Fi network.

If you don’t have HP Smart installed, download it here: HP Smart

Step 3: Set the Printer as Default (Optional)

  1. Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
  2. Click your printer > Set as default.
