HP Smart Tank 7602r All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

This 7602r series us a replacement printer. I was in touch with HP, they said the issue was their system and would call back today but they are closed today.  I wonder if someone else had the same issue.

Hi @DaveL83

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for sharing that—when everything seems set up and the printer still won’t print, it can be incredibly frustrating, especially with a replacement unit.

Let’s walk through some recommended steps to get your Smart Tank 7602r up and running:

🔄 1. Confirm Setup Completion

Even with the blue wireless light on, the printer may still be in a pending setup state.

  • Open the HP Smart app on your Windows 11 PC.
  • If prompted, complete the setup process—this may include accepting terms, activating services, or confirming ink installation.
  • If the printer shows as “offline” or “not ready,” remove it and re-add it using the “+” icon.

🖨 2. Run a Print Test from the Printer

  • On the printer’s control panel, go to Settings > Reports > Print Quality Report.
  • If this prints successfully, the issue is likely with the connection between the printer and your PC—not the printer itself.

📶 3. Reconnect to Wi-Fi

Even with the blue light on, the printer might be connected to the wrong network or stuck in a partial connection.

  • On the printer, go to Settings > Network Setup > Restore Network Defaults.
  • Reconnect using the Wireless Setup Wizard.
  • Then re-add the printer in HP Smart.

🧼 4. Clear Print Queue and Restart Print Spooler

  1. Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
  2. Scroll to Print Spooler, right-click, and choose Restart.
  3. Also, clear any stuck jobs in Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.

🛠 5. Update Firmware and Drivers

Let me know how far you get—I’ll be right here to help with the next step!
