The printer functions work for all other applications:

I have a laptop that prints and we have two iPhones that can print and they are all working through the wireless network.  It is only the desktop, which is also connected wirelessly, that has problems.  It started having problems about 3 weeks ago and prior to that it was fine.  The printer has auto updates and says it is up to date now.  The printer copies fine.  Also, when I did the HP printer doctor app it had me do an 'internal print' command from the desktop, which was successful.  The problems are either a print error or an unavailable driver.  Right now it's the print error.

Create a new user account and then install the printer on that account and try printing.

1. Tap the Windows icon.

2. Select Settings.

3. Tap Accounts.

4. Select Family & other users.

5. Tap "Add someone else to this PC."

6. Select "I don't have this person's sign-in information."

7. Select "Add a user without a Microsoft account."

8. Enter a username, type the account's password twice, enter a clue and select Next.

9. Tap the Windows icon.

10. Select the User icon at the upper left corner of the Start menu.

11. Select the new user. You'll then sign into your account with your password from step 8.

12. install the printer and try printing.

I still get a print error

HP Recommended

seems like a OS issue, perform a system reset on the computer.

I am hesitant to do the reset procedure.  I just tried something that may suggest that the OS is OK.  I brought my printer to the desktop and directly attached it.  Now I have two printer images on my control panel under devices...one that is wireless and one that is directly connected (same printer).  I get a print error with the wireless test page command and it works fine with the direct connection test page command.  As review, I can print fine wirelessly with a PC laptop and two iPhones which are all connected to the same network.  It seems like the desktop would not print even when directly connected if there was an OS problem.  Am I wrong in my thinking?

HP Recommended

no, the direct printing does not need any drivers.

But, to print over the network we would need the printer installed on the computer we are not able to install the printer on your computer.

I have used the HP Smart several times.  It has not solved the problem but I was able to print from the PC when I requested the Network Configuration Page while using HP Smart.  I have also used the HP Print and Scan Doctor multiple times.  The 3 ways I have been able to print from the desktop PC is with the 1) Network Configuration Page,  2) Internal Print request (both through wireless network using HP Smart) and when the printer is 3) connected directly to the PC.  My laptop PC can print normally through the wireless network.  One of the tools I used to try to uninstall the driver said "HP Uninstaller program is not present".  Uninstalling and reinstalling the driver seems like a good fix but I am stopped by the inability to delete the program, and the PC says it can't find the folder containing the installation package.

Restart your PC and then try the root uninstallation as given in our first post.

I have the same problem that I had when I followed that recommendation before....I am unable to complete the uninstall which is the first step in the sequence.  A "Windows Installer" message comes up as follows:

I am forced to cancel the uninstall command.  I have tried to figure out  an alternate path but have not been successful.
