I am trying to set up the HP app and register my printer (which I have been using for a few years and it's on and connected to WIFI) but I'm getting the error code UA_400_EB000U0422.
I tried updating the driver but the driver said it does not support it. Help!

Hi,
Thank you for the response.
Try these steps:
Verify Network Connection
- Wi-Fi Connection: Ensure that your printer is connected to the same network as your device. The Wi-Fi light on the printer should be solid, indicating a stable connection. If it's blinking, reconnect the printer to the network.
- Ethernet Connection: If using an Ethernet connection, ensure the cable is securely connected and the lights on the Ethernet port are on (one solid green, one blinking orange/yellow).
Reboot Devices
- Power Cycle: Turn off your printer and the device you are using for setup. Wait for about 10 seconds, then restart both devices and attempt the setup again.
Check for Updates
- HP Smart App: Ensure that the HP Smart app is updated to its latest version from your respective app store:
- Microsoft Store
- Mac App Store
- Google Play Store
- Apple App Store
Use a Different Device
- Alternative Device: Try completing the setup using a different device (another computer or mobile device) on the same network.
Restore Printer to Factory Defaults
- You can restore your printer to the default settings using the HP Smart app or the printer’s Embedded Web Server (EWS). Here’s a quick guide:
- Use the HP Smart app to access the printer's settings.
- Navigate to "Advanced Settings".
- Select "Restore Factory Defaults".
Remove and Re-add the Printer
- In the HP Smart app, remove the printer and then try adding it back:
- Click on the printer image and select "Hide Printer" or "Forget Printer".
- Restart the HP Smart app and add the printer again.
I hope this helps.
I'm glad I could help! 😊 If this resolved your issue, please mark it as "Accepted Solution" and click "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?" Your feedback not only keeps us going but also helps others find the solution faster! 👍✨
