As other people have mentioned repeatedly on the web (for instance
) several of your scanners produce jpeg artifacts internally regardless of any settings or firmware versions.
We need a way to fix this.
Don't tell me to update the firmware (already done)
Don't tell me to update the drivers (problem has existed for years)
Don't tell me to use another program (unless it actually works; I have used almost a dozen now).
I've tried twain and WIA, I've tried making my own WIA program and setting various parameters. Nothing works.
Don't tell me to use another format; it doesn't matter. The data is jpegged before it gets to the scan client software.
Don't tell me to try turning it off and on again.
The only thing I want to hear is an actual fix for the problem. Or an HP engineer acknowledging the issue and stating it will never be fixed in (list of affected model numbers).
This shoddy quality is not acceptable. It is garbage. So if you can't tell me how to fix this, I am going to to chuck the printer in a garbage bag where it belongs, and take it back to office depot. I am finished wrestling with it.
Time's up. This years-long saga needs to be concluded now.
