@Raj1788
Hi Raj1788. Thanks for trying to help me. My printer model is an HP Photosmart 6510 e-All-in-One Printer - B211a.
Yes, I have tried to update both printer and printer software. The software on the printer is the latest available. The problem lies solely with my HP Envy Phoenix 860 desktop. Although I have downloaded full feature software for Windows 10 to it, only the basic software driver installs. I have tried to install the full feature software a great many times without success.
I am able to scan from the desktop (pull) using the HP Smart software. However, I cannot scan direct from the printer to the desktop (push), which is what I really want to do. I am able to push and pull from the printer to my laptop, so the communication between the printer and the desktop is what's at fault.
The copy and print side works perfectly fine. I can print to it all from all my devices - iPad Pro, Samsung Galaxy S7 phone, an old HP DV8-1250 laptop and the relatively new HP Envy Phoenix 860 desktop.
Please let me know if you need any further information. Many thanks.

Thanks for the reply,
I recommend you delete the driver at the root level and Install the drivers, follow the steps below:
1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
2.) Select your HP Printer
3.) Select Uninstall
4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose `Delete' or `Remove Device'
6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.
7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between "printui.exe" and "/s")
8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab
9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
10.) Select Ok
11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
12.) Close Devices and Printers
Then, Click on this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/swdetails/hp-photosmart-6510-e-all-in-one-printer-s... to download the HP Photosmart 6510 e-All-in-One Printer series - B211 Full Feature Software and Driver
Try to print.
Keep me posted, how it goes!

Thanks for keeping me posted
It looks like you were interacting with @Raj1788 , but he is out for the day. I'm KrazyToad & I'm at your service.
Please create a new User Account and then download the Full Feature Software as instructed earlier
-
-
Select the Start button, then select Settings > Accounts > Family & other users > Add someone else to this PC. (Depending on your edition of Windows 10, you may see Other users instead of Family & other users.)
- At the bottom of the page, select I don’t have this person’s sign-in information, and at the bottom of the next page, select Add a user without a Microsoft account.
-
Enter a user name, password, password hint, and then select Next. Note: If you’re using Windows 10, version 1803 and later, you can add security questions—instead of a hint—to your local account to help you reset your password in case you forget it
-
- To make the new account an administrator account, select Start > Settings > Accounts > Family & other users (or Other users, if you're using Windows 10 Enterprise), and select Change account type. Under Account type, select Administrator > OK. Restart your device and sign in with the new administrator account.
Let me know how it goes
Thank you 😊

@KrazyToad
Thanks for these instructions. Can you just confirm that I should download the full feature software both to and install from the new user account. Also assuming that the full feature software does install successfully, can I then just delete the new user or does this new account need to be kept?

If the new User Account does not help, you can always delete the Account later
Create the New Account first. Login to the New User Account ( ensure it is an Admin Account ) then uninstall the drivers from root level and download the full feature software

@KrazyFrog
I followed both your's and Raj1788's instructions but I still cannot scan direct (push) from my printer to the desktop. I can print and scan from (pull) my desktop, just as before.
I was wondering if I deleted all the drivers, ran all the tasks, etc., via the new Windows User Account and started the printer install from scratch on it using Riddle_Decipher's instructions (they seemed a bit more thorough than Raj1788's) that might work.
What do you think? Do you have any other suggestions? I just feel as though I've wasted so much time on this 😞
