Thanks for reaching out to the HP Support Community! 🎉
I’m here to help you troubleshoot your issue and get things back on track. Just follow these steps below, and we’ll have you running smoothly in no time:
- Reset the Printer: Turn off the printer and unplug it from both the wall and the printer. Wait for 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on. This can help fix internal issues.
- Check Cartridge Compatibility: Make sure the cartridges are genuine and compatible with your region. If they are, try replacing them with new ones to see if that resolves the problem.
- Clean the Cartridge Contacts: Power off the printer, remove the cartridges, and clean the gold-colored contacts on both the cartridges and inside the printer using a damp lint-free cloth. Let them dry before reinserting.
- Update Printer Firmware: Check for firmware updates for your HP printer on the HP Support website. Install the latest version to fix cartridge issues.
- Reinstall Software and Drivers: Uninstall your printer from your computer's settings, then download and reinstall the latest HP Smart app and printer drivers from HP's website.
- Perform a Semi-Full Reset: If none of the above works, try a semi-full reset to restore factory settings without deleting your data. Turn off the printer, press and hold the Power button while pressing the Cancel button (or another key combination—check your manual for details).
