Same problem here.  I had the printerhead error after 1 year and they they replaced it with a (refurbished one -I think)  It worked for a year and now it needed ink.  I put in $100 worth of brand new cartridges, and it won't print AT ALL.  I tried everything, went through all the suggested "printer head cleaning steps"  nothing.  I will need to throw it out and start over.  And you can bet it won't be an HP this time.  Nor ever again.  They have screwed me for the last time.  I've not only spent way too much money - now wasted, but WAY too much of my precious time on this ridiculous printer, which was a pain even when it worked because it would take 10 minutes of machinations to warm up for the first print of the day.  Totally STUPID!

What is interesting is that people seem to be having a problem once they remove the original cartridges and replace them with new ones. These printers are only lasting 12 to 24 months. I wonder if we can lodge a consumer complaint with some agency because there are so many of us who had exactly the same problem with theses printers. In my case, I have had two printers back-to-back with bad printheads. I had to trash both.  NEVER buying another HP printer Ever again!!!

Agreed - mine has now already been replaced under warranty. I spoke with HP support here in Greece yesterday who said that as the printer and now the "new" replaced printhead were out of warranty they wouldn`t be fixing it for free. They then decided it was a network problem ?????

Time to move to another manufacturer I think - So far, the printer has been good which is why I got it repaired in the first place, but if I`m now having to basically either repair or replace each year, I`ll find one that lasts the course.

Pity about the cartridges too - thats another Euro 100 wasted 😞

I concur... we shoukd ban together and all be reimbursed for all lost and emotional too. This has been very frustrating!! 2hrs with service and yhey didn't want to honor the agreement we purchased!

I couldn't even find a printer that used the cartridges so I have about $200 of ink that is going to waste.  Yes I bought another printer - from Costco - but this had better last longer than 2 years or it will be the end of HP in my home for anythng.

I will find another company that will work with all the programs I have and be done with them.

I can now fully understand why HP as a company is failing - glad I no longer own their stock

It is so sad as I told my Boyfriend that it "had to" be an HP. This was my Christmas present and won't ever be again! I am beyong disappointed! And Im also out $$ because I just bought all new ink. 😕

Its just happened to me, replaced all the cartridges on my 6830 and received the printhead problem message. HP support completely unhelpful as warranty has expired.

They recommended I buy a new HP printer !!!

They really dont care

Never again !

HP is totally removed from any responsibility on the poor quality of their printers. I experienced this problem for the second time on a row. My current printer with the bad printer head replaced another HP printer with a bad printer head. I am never buying another HP printer.I am looking at a Brother or Canon instead. I have had a great experience with Brother laser printers. They may be a little more money but worth not having the aggravation and expense of an HP. HP is a disgrace!!!!!
