Hi @jessseaca,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
If your HP printer feeds paper but doesn’t print anything, here are the most common causes and how to fix them:
Step-by-Step Fix
1. Check Ink or Toner Levels
- Open the HP Smart app or printer control panel.
- Check if any cartridges are empty or low.
- If using ink, try replacing or reseating the cartridges.
2. Run Printhead Cleaning
- On the printer screen or HP Smart app:
- Go to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Clean Printhead.
- Run the cleaning cycle and try printing again.
3. Print a Test Page
- This helps confirm if the issue is with the printer or the computer.
- On the printer: Settings > Reports > Print Quality Report or Test Page.
- If the test page prints fine, the issue is likely with the computer or software.
4. Check Printer Settings on Your Computer
- Make sure the correct printer is selected.
- Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers (Windows) or System Settings > Printers (Mac).
- Right-click your printer > Printer Preferences > ensure it's not set to “Print to file” or “Use only black ink.”
5. Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers
- Go to HP Support and download the latest drivers for your model.
- Uninstall the current printer from your computer and reinstall it using the updated software.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
