Hi @Kris1070,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you’re trying to locate the WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) button or feature for your network setup, but you can’t find it. Here are some steps to help you locate the WPS option on your devices and router:
Finding the WPS Button on Your Router
Physical Router Check:
- Look for a Button: WPS buttons are usually labeled with "WPS" or have an icon of two arrows forming a circle. They are often located on the back or side of the router.
- Check Router Documentation: Refer to the router’s manual or user guide for the exact location of the WPS button. This information is usually available in the setup or installation section.
Router Web Interface:
- Access Router Settings: Connect your computer to the router via Ethernet cable or Wi-Fi. Open a web browser and enter the router’s IP address (often something like 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1).
- Login: Enter the router’s username and password. The default credentials are often found on a label on the router or in the manual.
- Find WPS Settings: Navigate to the wireless settings section and look for WPS configuration options. You may need to enable WPS from this interface.
Finding the WPS Option on Your Devices
Windows Computers:
- Add a Wireless Network: Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi > Manage known networks > Add a network.
- Look for WPS: Some network setups might offer an option to connect via WPS if your router supports it. This option is not always available in all Windows versions or might appear in different places depending on your system.
Mac Computers:
- Wi-Fi Settings: Click the Wi-Fi icon on the menu bar and select Open Network Preferences.
- Advanced Settings: Click on Advanced and look for any mention of WPS or similar options in the Wi-Fi tab.
Mobile Devices:
- Android: Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi. Look for WPS or similar options in the Wi-Fi settings menu.
- iOS: iOS devices typically don’t have a WPS option. You may need to connect manually if your router doesn’t have an alternative setup method.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
