Just bought a 7740. Had a problem with setting tray to print A3. Most of the videos show each paper tray has a flap at the front, presumably to stop dirt/dust getting into the tray when using A3 paper. I cannot find the two covers on the paper trays that hinge up when loading paper. They are not in the packaging!

Welcome to the HP support community.

Which video are you refering to?

Could you elaborate on the issue for better understanding?

I was looking at a generic YouTube video which featured HP 7720, 7730 and 7740. On the video I saw a flap lifted that was hinged in two holes at the front of the paper tray, it was flapped out by 180 degrees. There are the holes in the front of the 7740 paper trays where this flap would be 'popped' in to. I assumed that the 7740 would have them as well. Not to worry if the 7740 doesn't have them but it would restrict dust, dirt and toast crumbs getting into the paper tray 🙂
