HP Officejet 5510
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi Everyone,

I know this is an old printer (HP Officejet 5510 bought it since 2004) and beginning with Windows 10 v 1507 (2015) till Windows 10 v 20H2 (2020) my HP Officejet 5510 when I plug my USB printer into the computer it setup and automatically install the printer driver.  When I did a clean install of Windows 10 v 21H1 (2021) it has a problem and it can't detect the scanner.  It says scanner not found!  So I went to the printers and add a printer and clicked on this printer is not listed.  I found the HP Officejet 5510 and it says digitally signed and so I installed it. After I installed and then it says the file is NOT digitally signed and so it will not work.  So that means the drivers in Windows 10 v 21H1 is NOT COMPATIBLE with my HP Officejet 5510.

I had to DOWNGRADE to Windows 10 v 20H2 and then it will work.  Is there any to resolve this issue with Windows 10 v 21H1 and higher or do I have to write to Microsoft and have them fix this or my printer will no longer work with Windows 10 anymore with the version 21H1 or higher?

Thanks,

Mike

Hello,

I had to reinstall the Windows 10 21H1 and just plugged in my HP Officejet 5510 and it automatically installed the drivers again.  I guess for some reason the Windows driver "corrupted" and it deleted something internally in the Windows system.  If I have a problem again I will open a new ticket.

Thanks for your help.

Mike

Hi @mikecintel,

I'd like to help!

HP Officejet 5510 All-in-One Printer driver for windows 10 is not available from the HP website. However, you can install the printer with Windows built-in driver.

Refer -https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/ish_2224996-1993298-16.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hi Jay,

Thanks, I have went to HP website and did all of that and it still does not work at all.  I add the built-in HP Officejet 5510 printer drivers and in the previous message this is what I said:

1.I went to the printers and add a printer and clicked on this printer is not listed

2.   I found the HP Officejet 5510 and it says digitally signed and so I installed it. After I installed and then it says the file is NOT digitally signed and so it will not work

Even though I added the print drive it will not work.  Do you have any other workarounds?

Thanks,

Mike

Try the below steps to resolve the error-

Go to shut down your computer, then hold “Shift + Left Click” on the Restart option. Select Troubleshoot -> Advanced Options -> Start-Up Settings -> Restart -> Disable signature requirement. By putting Windows 10 into test mode, you should be able to install the drivers without issue.

Hope this helps!
