Hello,

Unfortunately, if your printer cannot connect to HP Instant Ink, it stops printing and displays a message.

  • Make sure your router is on and connected to the internet. If you have another device on the same router, make sure it can connect to the internet. If the router is not connected to the internet, contact your network service provider.

  • Check the printer connection to the router.

To be simple, if you want to print more please choose a plan with more pages.

The price of the package is based only on the number of pages printed and not on the number of ink cartridges received by the service. A surcharge per additional printed page will be charged (paid on the following month).

You will not be able to print without being connected to the network, so USB printing with an HP Instant Ink subscription is not possible.

Don't hesitate to contact us in case of need.

Best regards,:Wink:

Understand completely the response to my question..

So my HP 5255 is not a printer on its own.,   it needs the internet..  So even out of the box new,..,,  will not print unless signed up to program?

Can it be removed and formatted .. print the 50 odd extra pages on its own.. AND THEN   programmed back on internet again?

@chauncey2

Thanks for your return,

My previous answer is only valid if your HP OfficeJet 5255 All-in-One Printer is registered to the HP Instant Ink service.

If your printer is not registered to the HP Instant Ink service, it will be able to print without being connected to the internet (using the USB cable).

Unfortunately this is not possible to do, as it directly impacts your instant ink subscription (cancellation and re-enrollment) so there is no need for you to do this. But only you can decide what to do.

I hope you understand!
