HP Officejet Pro 8600

I have a HP Officejet Pro 8600 from 2014. My operating system is Mac OS Catalina 10.15.7

I can't download the software for it. I get a message that says "cannot move file"

What is really annoying is that support will NOT ADDRESS THE ISSUE. I have tried to contact them via every method continuously and keep getting cut off or the chat gets blocked.

I KNOW YOU CAN'T FIX IT but you will have to address this issue sooner or later. At least be honest and keep me updated - and don't make me spend hours on stupid WhatsApp giving me time wasting drone like directions just to annoy me so I will go away.

Fix this issue please. I need software that works.

@LuLu121, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

The error you are getting has nothing to do with the printer. Check if the gatekeeper is preventing this downloaded file to be installed on the MAC. For more info, refer to this document from Apple.

As this model printer is AirPrint compatible, install the printer like-wise.

Check for any software updates on MAC

Click the Apple icon > About This Mac > Software Update and install any available update.

Click the Apple menu, and then select System Preferences.

Depending on your operating system version, click Print & Fax, Print & Scan, or Printers & Scanners.

Click the name of your printer, click the Minus sign, and then delete all the envy 5540 printer entries.

Select printer and click the minus sign

Click the Plus sign, and then click Add Printer or Scanner.

Click the Use or Print Using box, and then select AirPrint

Click Add to add the printer to the list.

Select AirPrint from the Use menu

Under 'kind', select 'Bonjour multifunction'

Try to print.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
