Hi @ElaineTheBoss ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you have changed the Internet provider (Wi-Fi network) for your HP ENVY 6458e All-in-One Printer, you'll need to reconnect it to your new Wi-Fi network. Here's how you can do it:
Method 1: Using the HP Smart App (Recommended)
Download HP Smart:
- Make sure the HP Smart app is installed on your device (Windows, macOS, Android, or iOS).
- If not installed, download and install it from the HP Smart website.
Prepare Your Printer:
- Make sure your printer is powered on.
- Reset the network settings by holding the Wi-Fi button and the Cancel button on the printer simultaneously for 5 seconds. The printer should enter setup mode with the Wi-Fi light blinking.
Open HP Smart App:
- Open the HP Smart app and sign in or create an HP account if needed.
- In the app, click Add Printer or the "+" icon.
- The app will search for printers in setup mode. Select your printer from the list.
Connect to New Wi-Fi:
- Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to your new Wi-Fi network. Make sure your device is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the printer.
Complete Setup:
- Once connected, the printer should be back online, and you’ll be able to print or scan.
Method 2: Using Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS)
Prepare the Printer:
- Reset the network settings by pressing and holding the Wi-Fi button and the Cancel button on your printer for 5 seconds.
- The Wi-Fi light should start blinking.
Use the WPS Button:
- Go to your Wi-Fi router and press the WPS button for 3-5 seconds.
- On your printer, press the Wi-Fi button within 2 minutes.
- The printer will automatically connect to the new Wi-Fi network.
Method 3: Using the Printer Control Panel (if applicable)
Go to Wireless Settings:
- On the printer’s control panel, navigate to Wireless Settings.
Set Up New Network:
- Select Wireless Setup Wizard or a similar option and follow the on-screen instructions to select your new Wi-Fi network.
