@Mrgiant, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding a 'printer not connected to the internet' message for HP Instant Ink!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your printer is displaying a message that it is not turned on but it is, follow the steps below to resolve the issue:

Check Network Connection:

  • Ensure your printer is connected to the internet via Wi-Fi or Ethernet directly. Public or guest networks commonly found in places such as hotels or coffee shops are not compatible with HP Instant Ink.

Check Printer Network Status:

  • For a wireless connection, ensure the blue indicator light on your printer is steady. If the light is blinking, restart your printer and router, and then reconnect them.

Reset Printer:

  • Turn off your printer by pressing the power button and then turn it back on after a few seconds.

Verify Web Services:

  • Ensure that Web Services are turned on in your printer settings. This helps maintain a connection to HP Instant Ink service.

Check HP Instant Ink Account:

  • Sign into your HP Instant Ink account and check the printer status in the Status area.
  • If the status reads "Ready to print," try turning the printer off and back on.
  • If it says "Not ready to print," refresh the page or reload the account webpage. Repeat this up to 5 times until the status says "Ready to print".

Firmware Update:

  • Ensure your printer’s firmware is updated to the latest version available for your model. This can also resolve the connectivity issues.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
