Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am going to recycle my officejet 6700 printer and want to clear the memory. Unfortunately the process described in previous support replies to this issue do not work as I have a Printer Failure error. "Problem with printer or ink system."  I have restarted a number of times but the error persists.

How do I physically remove the memory? the printer is being recycled so no need to worry about damage to it.

@tggraham

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

Follow the below steps to do a semi-full reset.

  • Press Power button to turn the Printer On.

  • Press BL, BL, BL, BL (bottom left icon. The “return” icon which may not be highlighted. Look very closely to find it and tap on it 4 times) Buttons, in sequence.

  • Touch Support Menu.

  • Select Reset Menu and Touch OK.

  • Select Semi-Full Reset and Touch OK.

  • Wait for unit to Power Down/Turn Off.

  • Press Power button to turn the Printer On.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
