HP OfficeJet 8015e All-in-One Printer

Hello everyone. I have an Officejet 8015e printer & see that there is a new update driver for it. I cannot get it to install either via my laptop or my Samsung S24, which is now running One UI 7, Android 15. I was running One UI 6, Android 14 when I set up the printer.

I cannot print wirelessly via the laptop. I have no idea why, have tried everything. I have had this issue with other printers, so I believe it is the laptop itself. So I give up, & the printer is plugged in. The laptop is running Windows 11. So the update will not go via the laptop. Why, I only have theories. That leaves my S24, or my Samsung Tab 7 tablet too.

Does anyone know how to do this? What app should I use? I have both print service plug-ins for both HP and Samsung, plus I have the HP Smart app. Oh yes, the network I use is the same one, my home network, for all devices. I have T-mobile.

Thank you for any help.

Hi @theresalee,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thanks for the detailed info! Based on your setup and the latest info, here’s a step-by-step guide to help you update your HP OfficeJet 8015e and resolve the wireless printing issue:

1. Windows 11: Driver Not Installing

You mentioned the update won't install via your laptop — here are a few steps to reset the environment:

  1. Uninstall the current printer software
    • Go to Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall a Program
    • Remove any existing HP printer drivers and HP Smart
  2. Restart your laptop
  3. Download the latest driver
From the HP OfficeJet 8015e All-in-One Printer Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Support, download the Full Feature Software and Drivers
    • Run the installer as Administrator (right-click > "Run as Administrator")

⚠️ If installation still fails, temporarily disable antivirus/firewall and try again.

2. Using Your Samsung Galaxy S24 or Tab 7

Your devices are up to date — that’s great! The best app to manage your HP printer on Android is:

  • HP Smart App – the primary app for setup, firmware updates, and printing
  • HP Print Service Plugin – make sure this is enabled under Android settings
Go to: Settings > Connections > More connection settings > Printing

To Check for Firmware Updates on Android:

  1. Open HP Smart on your S24 or Tab 7
  2. Tap on your Printer > Printer Settings
  3. Tap Advanced Settings > this opens the embedded web server (EWS)
  4. From EWS, navigate to Printer Updates and select Check for Updates Now

If this doesn’t work:

  • Try it from a browser on your phone: enter your printer’s IP address (find it on the printer screen under network settings)
  • Navigate to the Settings > Printer Update section from there

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
