I have a Windows 7 desktop that I use to print color TOPO maps, I recently upgraded a newer Windows 10 desktop to Windows 11 OS. When connecting this printer to the Win 11 desktop, it does not print in color. If connecting the printer back to the Win 7 desktop, it prints correctly in color. Using the HP Scan and Print Doctor software, it tells me everything is fine. In settings tab for printers, there is no checkbox for printing grayscale. There is, however a Color management choice for either Controlled by Host computer, controlled by Printer, or disabled. When I initially looked at this, the Disabled choice was already set. I changed it to Host computer, then to Printer. However it still only prints in grayscale/B&W. It seems like it is a priter driver issue to me. I would appreciate any suggestions. The printer actually works quite well otherwise.
9/3/24 Found solution.
Under Add Printer Scanner, I selected my 1518 ni printer, then chose Printer Properties, then chose Advanced tab. this window revealed that the incorrect driver (in this case a Konica Minolta scanner/Printer) was being used. I changed it to the correct driver and now all is well. Weird, because in other screens, it indicated the the HP PCL 6 driver was being used.

I see that you are facing an issue with using your Printer on windows 11 device.
A) Please follow the steps below to perform a power drain.
1) Take out the cartridges
2) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.
3) Press and hold the power button down for 15 seconds and release the power button, wait for about 30 seconds.
4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not into a surge protector.
5) Insert the cartridges back into the printer.
Remove the cartridges > Unplug the power cord > Wait for 30 seconds > Plug the power cord back in > Insert the cartridges
B) Kindly refer to the steps on this link to update the printer firmware and let me know if that resolves the issue.

Thank you so much for taking the time and energy to respond. I had previously removed the printer driver software as well as updated the firmware. I did modify my post to reveal what did work: For some reason I discovered that the printer driver was actually for a Ricoh scanner (This PC was previously also connected to a Ricoh printer/scanner as well as a current HP 426 laser jet printer), and for some reason in another window in "Settings", it was telling me that the HP PCL 6 print driver was the print driver being used for the 1518ni printer. Don't know why this is so. Probably some misunderstanding on my part. I removed the Ricoh print driver and installed the driver for the laser jet 1518ni color printer and now it works!
