@CAZZ4, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Since you've been locked out and can't reset the password, the best way forward is to restore the printer to factory defaults, which will remove the password and let you start fresh.

Steps to Reset HP Smart Tank 7605 to Factory Defaults:

  1. On the printer control panel, press and hold the Information button (i) for about 5 seconds until all the control panel buttons light up.
  2. Once all buttons are lit, press the following buttons in sequence:
    • Back button
    • Cancel button
    • Back button
    • Cancel button
  3. This should trigger a factory reset. The printer will restart and return to its default settings, including clearing any passwords.

After Reset – Setting Up Scan to Computer

Once your printer is reset, you can set up Scan to Computer using the HP Smart app:

  1. Download or open the HP Smart app on your Windows 11 PC: HP Smart
  2. Add your printer again.
  3. Go to the Scan section and follow the prompts to enable Scan to Computer

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
