The printer gets a paper jam everytime I use photo paper. I have changed the settings to photo paper but it still won't print. It prints fine with plain paper.

I have a MAC and I was wondering if this was the problem and if so please advise how I can resolve this?

thanks.

Hi! @bourh, Thanks for stopping by HP forums!

I understand you are getting paper jams when you use photo paper on your printer.

Don't worry I'll try to help you out.

Did you make any changes to your printer?

Have you tried checking with a different brand photo paper?

Please try the steps recommended below.

Remove any jammed paper that is accessible from the input tray.
Press the OK button to try to automatically clear the paper jam.
If the paper jam error persists, continue these steps to manually clear the jam.
Push in the output tray extender, if necessary.
Open the input tray door, then pull it toward you to extend the input tray.
Gently remove any jammed paper and bits of torn paper from the input tray. To avoid tearing any whole sheets of paper, pull the paper with both hands.
Use a flashlight to thoroughly check for torn pieces of paper or foreign objects in the back of the input tray.
If any torn pieces of paper or foreign objects remain inside the printer, more jams are likely to occur.
Try to print again. If the error persists, check for jammed paper in another area of the printer.

Refer this article to further troubleshoot paper jam issues.

Let me know if this helps!

Have a wonderful day ahead! 🙂

Thanks but it hasn't worked.  The paper never actually gets jammed properly, it just goes to start printing and then it says paper jam. When I open up the printer the paper is fine and in one piece, although nothing is ever printed on it.  People keep saying that it is because I hace a MAC and I need to download something extra but I don't know what to download, please help! Thanks.

oh and the paper I am using is 'HP everyday photo paper' so I assume that the paper type isn't the problem.

I’m having exactly the same problem both when I try to print from my PC and from my iPad. I’ve tried several different types of paper. The problem didn’t exist when I first bought the printer but has developed if the last few months.

I’m seeing the same thing all the time. Photo Paper doesn’t get jammed just gets pushed out and is blank.

I’m also using the 4x5 paper that came with the printer.
