I have almost the same problem as described in the following post:

Only "Wait image" is shown in the display, but uploading a new firmware does not work via USB. Is there a 
possibility of a factory reset without an existing connection to a computer?

I have the same problem, hp mfp 135ag blocked on "wait image". I tried firmware update with "usbprns2.exe" but the printer seems not connected to PC via USB. There are any easy solution or the only one is to desolder flash chip and reprogram with a working firmware? Please HP gives us a response!
