how to reconnect HP OFFICEJET 5255 TO HP COMPUTER/WINDOWS 10?

HP officejet 5255 printer needs 

to be reconnected to HP COMPUTER.

Not sure why it disconnected within the 

last week!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

 

You can reconnect your HP OfficeJet 5255 All-in-One Printer to your Windows 10 (64-bit) computer by following these steps:

 

Restart Devices

  1. Turn off your printer, computer, and Wi-Fi router.
  2. Wait for 30 seconds and turn them back on.
  3. Ensure your Wi-Fi is working properly on other devices.

Check Printer Connection

For Wireless Connection:

  1. On the printer control panel, tap Wi-Fi icon or go to Setup > Network Setup > Wireless Settings.
  2. Select Wireless Setup Wizard and choose your Wi-Fi network.
  3. Enter the Wi-Fi password and connect.

For USB Connection:

  1. Disconnect the USB cable and reconnect it to another USB port.
  2. Ensure the USB cable is not damaged.

Reinstall Printer Drivers (If Needed)

  1. Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  2. If the printer is grayed out or not listed, uninstall it.
    • Right-click the printer > Remove device.
  3. Go to the HP Support website and download the latest driver for the HP OfficeJet 5255: HP Official Drivers
  4. Install the driver and follow the setup instructions.

Set as Default Printer

  1. Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  2. Right-click your HP OfficeJet 5255 and select Set as default printer.

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor (Automatic Fix)

  1. Download HP Print and Scan Doctor from HP’s official website.
  2. Open the tool and run a diagnostic to detect and fix issues.

Test Printing

  1. Open Notepad, type Test Print, and press Ctrl + P.`
  2. Select your printer and print a test page.
