You can reconnect your HP OfficeJet 5255 All-in-One Printer to your Windows 10 (64-bit) computer by following these steps:
Restart Devices
- Turn off your printer, computer, and Wi-Fi router.
- Wait for 30 seconds and turn them back on.
- Ensure your Wi-Fi is working properly on other devices.
Check Printer Connection
For Wireless Connection:
- On the printer control panel, tap Wi-Fi icon or go to Setup > Network Setup > Wireless Settings.
- Select Wireless Setup Wizard and choose your Wi-Fi network.
- Enter the Wi-Fi password and connect.
For USB Connection:
- Disconnect the USB cable and reconnect it to another USB port.
- Ensure the USB cable is not damaged.
Reinstall Printer Drivers (If Needed)
- Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
- If the printer is grayed out or not listed, uninstall it.
- Right-click the printer > Remove device.
- Go to the HP Support website and download the latest driver for the HP OfficeJet 5255: HP Official Drivers
- Install the driver and follow the setup instructions.
Set as Default Printer
- Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
- Right-click your HP OfficeJet 5255 and select Set as default printer.

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor (Automatic Fix)
- Download HP Print and Scan Doctor from HP’s official website.
- Open the tool and run a diagnostic to detect and fix issues.
Test Printing
- Open Notepad, type Test Print, and press Ctrl + P.`
- Select your printer and print a test page.
