photosmart c7180 all-in-one
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

The scan feature of my all-in-one printer does not show up and not working at all. Other functions are OK.

Also the HP TotalCare Advisor feature is gone, no icon and no nothing at all.

Try troubleshooting by scan doctor, it suggest to install A10_CDA_FSW_Full_ww_130_140. Tried, cannot be installed.

Please help. Appreciated.

Greetings @Cas-1212

Welcome to HP Forums and Thanks for the post.

I understand that you are unable to use the scanning feature on the computer, is that right?

Kudos to you for trying to troubleshoot the issue on your own.

Are you able to make a copy on the printer?

How is the printer connected to your computer? USB or wireless.

HP Solutions Center and HP Total care advisor as discontinued. Click here

Request you turn off the printer.

Use this Microsoft uninstall tool to remove the printer from your computer.

Restart your computer.

Download the printer software from this link

Run the setup, power on and connect the printer only when the setup prompts for the printer.

Refer to this HP Article for assistance in scanning on a Windows computer.

Let me know how it goes.

Thank you for the prompt reply.

Before go ahead with the 'uninstall & reinstall' as recommended, I am replying your questions first and wait for further adivice.

(1) You are right, the machine CANNOT SCAN.

(2) The printer CAN print and copy.

(3) The printer is connected with USB.

Much appreciated for your assistance.
