Officejet Pro 8620
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

A recent issue where the Officejet Pro 8620 printer will not connect to the network wirelessly.  Spent a couple hours online with internet service provider, changing settings on router and on printer - nothing they tried worked.  Also noticed that now there is no wifi listing for the printer on my system.

Printer still functions fully with USB cable connection, not too convenient for the other wireless connected users trying to access it.

Hopefully its something simple i'm missing.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated?

Welcome to the HP support community.

Restore the printer to the original network settings

2. Touch Restore Network Defaults, and then touch Yes. A message appears stating that the network defaults have been restored.

3. Touch OK.

4. Print the network configuration page and verify that the network settings have been reset.

Hello Sandy, tried both of those and unfortunately not resolved.  I had been chatting with HP Support through twitter, trying the support.hp.com/in-en/document steps a few times, turning the computer network items off in sequence; going through the E-Print; doing the wireless setup wizard a few times; restoring the network defaults a few times; doing a factory semi-full reset; and confirming the proper channel was being used.  None of these solved the issue.  It was suggested that perhaps the wireless radio on the printer itself (presumably the wireless card?) is having an issue (failed?).  Solution was to return the unit to where I purchased it or send it to HP.  Right now I have a few hundred $$ of printer cartridges left and as the new models I looked at don't use the same cartridges, I'll have to wait.

Thank you

Trevor

Good to know that your printer is getting replaced.

I request you to talk to HP support and check if you can trade the extra cartridges which you have.

They might have multiple options to help you with this.

  1. Click on this link - https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp?openCLC=true
  2. Select the country.
  3. Enter the serial of your device.
  4. Select the country from the drop-down.
  5. Click on "Show Options".
  6. Fill the web-form. A case number and phone number will now populate for you.

Let me know how it goes.
